Foley Family // Hudson WI Mini Session

With the busy wedding season I had this year, October crept up on me before I was ready for it. I have done mini sessions for the past few years, and just about let them pass this year unintentionally. Thankfully this family reminded me and we met at Weitkamp park in Hudson, WI on a chilly morning to capture some family photos. The two boys are so energetic and full of life and laughter. It was so fun working with all of them and capturing the sweetest smiles against the beautiful fall colors.

Miller Birth Day // Lakeview Hospital, Stillwater, MN

Hours old and cute as a button. This precious baby girl came a few days earlier than expected, but mom and baby are doing great! I met this beautiful family of four in the newly remodeled birth center at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN. I had the privileged of capturing the siblings meeting for the first time and let me tell you, it was a beautiful. It’s times like this that can never be recreated. Moments that can steal your heart.

Congratulations Miller family! Thank you for letting me be a small part in such a big day for your family!

Sam & Naomi // Wedding Photography

Naomi’s older sister Hannah, introduced Naomi to Sam at Fort Wilderness Camp in 2013 where they were all working for the summer. Because Sam already knew Hannah and some stories of Hannah’s family,  Naomi recalls the first thing Sam ever said to her was “Hi Naomi! So I hear you like poop.” Now, though I don’t know the context of this, and nor do I think I really want to, it was the start of a beautiful love story between Naomi and Sam. Over the years their relationship evolved and deepened. They dated long distance for awhile before Naomi decided to move to Iowa to be closer to Sam. Their wedding took place on a beautiful spring day, where though it was muddy, the sun was warm and their faces shown bright with love for each other and for the Lord. Congratulations Sam and Naomi!

Jackson // Newborn Photography

I cannot get enough of this cute little family of four with adorable newborn Jackson. This family welcomed me into their home on an overcast drizzly morning just five days after Jackson made his appearance into this world. This family has beautiful hearts, smiles and (nerd alert) window light in their house (I mean, com’on! Not every house has beautiful light that allows for the entire session to look stunning in black and white). Older brother Emmett was so gentle and loving to his little brother. This family is truly precious and it was a blessing to share and document this stage in all of their lives.

Fall Mini Sessions // Birkmose Park Hudson WI

It’s hard to believe, but it’s that time of year again! Fall mini sessions will be offered this year on Saturday October 10, 2015 at Birkmose Park in Hudson, WI. I’ve added 10 extra minutes to the session length from last year and kept the 5 digital images (with print release!) and 10% off prints and products the same. These sessions are a great and easy opportunity to capture images for your holiday cards, to give as gifts during the holiday season or simply to finally get an updated family portrait that you’ve been putting off for a few years now. All families, couples and even high school seniors are welcomed. Sessions will be booked during the morning and late afternoon hours on October 10th. Contact Kelly with morning or afternoon preference to figure out time slots available. Contact me today with any questions or to reserve your spot. Times fill up quickly so don’t delay.

The $99 (+tax) session fee will be due at the time of the session. Rescheduling due to rain will be figured out on a one to one basis with Kelly.

Logan // Minnehaha Senior Portraits

I first met Logan almost 10 years ago now. His older sister was my neighbor and good friend in the door rooms freshman year of college. At the time he was a young spirited little kid. Now, he is a senior in high school on the varsity football team with aspirations of becoming an engineer some day. Over the years I have had the privilege and honor of photographing Logan’s two older sisters, Shaina and Stacie, so it was such a joy for me to now photograph the youngest sibling in this incredible family.  Have a fantastic senior year Logan and best wishes to your future!

Ailee // Newborn Photography

This post is late, since little Ailee is almost 4 months old now, but the images were too cute to not share. If her eyes are closed in any of the photos, they are deceiving, this little beauty did not sleep more than a wink during the entire session, but she wasn’t fussy either, so it turned out well. I will post her 3 month photos soon, so stay tuned!

David & Taylor // Senior Photography

David and Taylor are a lot easier to tell apart in pictures then when they are moving around and switching outfits on you. I admittedly had a hard time during the session telling them apart, but the slight difference in their smiles and their hair cuts became apparent in the photos very quickly. Both boys are on the track and cross country teams at East Ridge High School in Woodbury so we tried to start our photo day at the school’s track. After seeing the locks and the 10 foot tall fence we altered our plans pretty quickly. Instead we started at the pavilion where they meet for cross country, then headed to the beautiful Afton State Park. The weather was perfect and I had a great time getting to know David, Taylor, their mom and their dog Trooper.

Have a great senior year Taylor and David. Best of luck deciding where you want to attend college and all that the future brings!

Holiday Mini Sessions

Liz & Rachel (Senior & Sibling Photography)

Liz and Rachel are sisters. Liz and Rachel are HILARIOUS. Smart. Athletic. Beautiful. I laughed during their entire photo session, and then I laughed while editing their photos as well. (Yes, I know, I was home alone and laughing at my computer…) Liz is a senior in high school, while Rachel is already in college at the U of M. Driving to their session, it poured down rain. As soon as we arrived, the clouds broke and left us with beautiful light. Everything about this session was pretty much awesome. :)

K & J (Children’s Portraits)

On a recent trip back to La Crosse, visiting some good friends of mine, I couldn’t help but photograph these two adorable girls again. As the brats were grilling and the corn was cooking, I captured a few shots of the girls, and a few family ones as well. Once again, mom picked out some really great outfits (they were her and her sisters from when they were young.) Too cute. Seriously. Hard not to love them.
