Tom & Zac // Married

I have tried to start this post three or four times now, and I just cannot seem to come up with the right words to say. There are too many thoughts, memories, emotions that rush through me as I try to type. See, Tom and I go as far back as preschool. Our relationship, like many, as ebbed and flowed throughout the years, but he’s always been near and dear to my heart. Tom has brought so much light, laughter and countless spontaneous adventures into my life, and I know the same for the lives of others around him. He is genuine, thoughtful, generous and kindhearted. Though I’ve only met Zac a handful of times throughout the past few years, I would say the exact same things about him. My eyes filled with tears a few times throughout their beautiful wedding day as my heart swelled with love and respect for these two men. It brought me such great joy to see such a good friend so undeniably happy. Thank you so much for trusting me to document the biggest day in your life together up until this point. May you have many many years of happiness and grand adventures together. xoxo!

Bri & Ty // Stonewall Farms, Willmar, MN Wedding Photography

Their story starts at a wedding. Bri was invited. Ty was a wedding crasher. A few months later, they were both in a wedding for Bri’s friend and Ty’s cousin. As bridesmaid and groomsmen, they walked down the aisle together. Fast forward through months of long distance dating (SD & WI/MN), lots of adventurous dates, and plenty of state park visits (25+ different parks) Bri and Ty decided to walk down another aisle as two individuals and back up the aisle as one; husband and wife. They have a Christ centered relationship and it was truly beautiful to witness and capture the moments when their lives became permanently intertwined.

Stonewall Farms in Willmar, MN is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue. It was perfect for Bri and Ty’s love of the outdoors. The tall pines above, the bed of needles underfoot with the romantic bistro lights suspended in between made for a super dreamy ceremony location. Guests could easily enjoy the grounds with the horses, yard games and slight breeze with dinner under a large tent before heading to the barn for dancing (a few polka dances per the bride’s family traditions) and s’mores to finish the night off right.

Bri & Ty, I wish you two all the best in your lives together. I know together you guys will do great and wonderful things for this world. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your story and to capture the love that you share. Congratulations!

Ben & Summer // Bunker Hills Golf Club Wedding

It was a busy Saturday morning at Caribou Coffee when I first met Ben and Summer. Within a few minutes of talking, I knew this couple was one that I wanted to work with and get to know more. They are so genuine and authentic. Summer’s smile and laugh can light up the darkest room and it only takes one look from Ben to get her nose to crinkle and she’s smiling from ear to ear. For cultural traditions, this wonderful couple was officially married during a small intimate ceremony two weeks prior to their reception at Bunker Hill Golf Club in Coon Rapids. Summer’s energy and love was infectious and Ben was a great sport when bird seed was dumped down his pant legs per family traditions.

My wish is for all couples, especially my clients, is to be as happy on their wedding day and each day in their marriage as Summer and Ben were on this day. Many heartfelt congratulations to the lovely couple. It was an honor to get to know the two of you and work with you on such a big day in your lives together.

White Bear Lake, MN // Family Portraits

On occasion I will photograph family portraits, and then wonder why I don’t do it more often because I had so much fun working with Kalia, her husband and her family. Beautiful people, inside and out. We had the perfect summer evening and beautiful locations in Washington Square Park in White Bear Lake.

Logan // Minnehaha Senior Portraits

I first met Logan almost 10 years ago now. His older sister was my neighbor and good friend in the door rooms freshman year of college. At the time he was a young spirited little kid. Now, he is a senior in high school on the varsity football team with aspirations of becoming an engineer some day. Over the years I have had the privilege and honor of photographing Logan’s two older sisters, Shaina and Stacie, so it was such a joy for me to now photograph the youngest sibling in this incredible family.  Have a fantastic senior year Logan and best wishes to your future!

Austad Family

Two big milestones at once! Ailee is now 6 months, sitting up on her own and is full of smiles! Jude turned 3 and this year we photographed him with a few of his favorite things, trucks, his teddy bears and books! How can they be so big already? These little ones are growing up just way too quickly. However, they do continue to get cuter with age so I guess there is nothing wrong with that.  We topped off the session with a quick and beautiful family portrait.

Adam & Audra // Wedding Photography

Last August I photographed this awesome couple’s engagement which included some epic tandem slalom water skiing. If you missed it, check it out here. Adam and Audra’s plan was to do a little snow skiing on their wedding day, but who knew that in February in Minnesota there would be no snow? Crazy. Even without skiing their wedding day was phenomenal. We started photographing before the sun rose early in the morning at the Hilton Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis followed by the absolutely gorgeous Hennepin Ave United Methodist Church for their ceremony at 10:30am. A brunch reception was held at Como Zoo which was full of fun activities for kids including coloring books, animal masks and a live penguin from the zoo. Audra and Adam had many great and personal details throughout the day but my favorite by far was their cake table (and not for the reason that it featured some of my images from their engagement session). Their cake was custom made by Audra’s sister and made for a great set up for a few of their ring shots. Audra and Adam I wish you many years of grand adventures together. Congratulations.

Adam & Audra // Engagement Photography

Ok, so I get excited about all of the engagement and weddings that I photograph, but this one I am even more excited about! Audra and Adam are so great and I love their vision for their wedding coming up this winter. I am not going to ruin any surprises, you will have to stay tuned for that. but the following images from their engagement session will give you a hint as to how fun this couple really is. When Audra first contacted me about doing an engagement shoot at Carver Park, I was excited. But then she said they wanted to go double slalom water skiing as part of the session and have me photograph from the boat- I was pumped!! How fun is that?! They skied at sunset which created beautiful lighting in the background. Adam (as you will see in the last photograph here) is an AMAZING slalom skier. Together they love being outside and being active. This was the perfect session to show their interests and their relationship. As I said, stay tuned in February to see images from their wedding. I cannot wait. Congratulations Adam and Audra. Thanks for letting me be apart of your adventures!

Amanda & Darren // Wedding Photography

Happy first anniversary to Amanda and Darren! Their wedding was the Saturday after all the huge storms in the Twin Cities last year when the power went out for three days in some areas – remember that? When I showed up at the church the morning of their wedding, I was’t even sure if the church was going to have power. Thankfully it did. Not only for the sound system and lights to work during the ceremony, but for the air conditioner – it was HOT outside. Amanda, Darren, and myself would run and do photos outside quick and then run back in to cool down and kept doing this until we got all the photos we wanted. Amanda and Darren were so calm despite the storms and the heat. You didn’t have to be around them long before you knew that their soon-to-be other half was all that they were focusing on that day. The two compliment each other so well and they are full of life and love. The pink bridesmaids dresses, gray tuxes and Amanda’s birdcage veil were a perfect combination for a vintage inspired wedding. Happy Anniversary Darren and Amanda, I hope this is the first of many, many more to to come!

Angie & Will // Wedding Photography

Weddings like Will and Angie’s make me wish that American weddings lasted longer than a day. I could have easily had a good time with this couple and their friends and family for a full week. Everyone was so nice and love and laughter filled the room at Edinburgh in Brooklyn Park, MN. Angie was able to take everything beautiful about fall and bring it indoors for their decorations. It was the best fall themed wedding I have been to so far. Congratulations Angie and Will! Thanks for letting me be apart of your day.

Mr. & Mrs. Schnell [Wedding Photography]

On Friday, Joel and Sue said “I Do”! I met them mid afternoon to do a few shots at the Como Zoo Conservatory. It was beautiful (as always!) and a great alternative to cold and snowy Minnesota February’s. They had a small intimate ceremony in St. Paul with their closes family and friends. After dinner, they threw a big party that everyone enjoyed!
Here are a few of my favorite images from the day:

And YES- She did wear a blue dress on her wedding day!! =)  She totally rocked it and looked absolutely gorgeous in!

Look at the way she is looking at him! Awww! So in love.

This has got to be the greatest cake topper I have seen yet. A bride and groom snowmobiling! AWESOME. They are going snowmobiling for their honeymoon and they’re going to try to recreate this in a photo of them. How great! I added their rings to this image too to give it just a little more personalization.

Seth is nine years old. He wrote this note to Sue and Joel completely on his own. No one told him to write it. Adorable! I wish all 9 year olds were just as cute.

The matron of honor made these boots for herself and the bride. Perfect gift for a winter wedding. Creative and thoughtful.

Congrats Joel and Sue!!!

Mr. & Mrs. Bouman [Wedding Photography]

Shaina & Eric tied the knot this weekend – finally. ;) It was such a blessing to be apart of their big day. Shaina and Eric are so comfortable with each other, so relaxed and so fun to be around! The couple and the wedding party was every wedding photographer’s dream!

The newlyweds are really supermodels- they just don’t tell many people that. ;)

GORGEOUS!

Too fun!

The attention to details really made this wedding stand out. Every detail was truly phenomenal. Their color scheme was perfect for them as well.

<3

Congratulations Eric and Shaina. God Bless!

Mr. & Mrs. Wilson [Wedding Photography]

Calleigh and I were in a wedding of a mutual friend about a year ago when we met. Since then Calleigh met John and they fell in love! They got married on a Friday night and the black, white and silver wedding was elegant to say the least.
