Joe & Amanda // Virginia Wedding Photography

To quote Amanda, “We’ve been friends since flip phones.” We met freshman year in college when we lived on the same floor in the dorms. We became fast friends and went on to being teammates on the swim team and having a lot of crazy great adventures together. After two years I transferred schools and then Amanda moved to a couple different states after graduating. She’s one of those friends that you can talk to once or twice a year and it feels like no time has past, so when she called to tell me she was engaged, I was truly thrilled for her. When she asked me to photograph her wedding I was even more excited. The wedding was in Virginia so Phil and I flew out there for the wedding and took an extra few days and made it a little mini vacation for ourselves as well. We met Joe for the first time on Saturday and could tell instantly that he made Amanda happy and they were a great pair together. Saturday started off rainy but stopped just in time for outdoor portraits. The ceremony and reception were at the Evergreen Country Club in Haymarket which was an ideal setting for a fall wedding. Everything about the day was beautiful. Congratulations to Amanda and her new husband Joe! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love together.

Jackson // Newborn Photography

I cannot get enough of this cute little family of four with adorable newborn Jackson. This family welcomed me into their home on an overcast drizzly morning just five days after Jackson made his appearance into this world. This family has beautiful hearts, smiles and (nerd alert) window light in their house (I mean, com’on! Not every house has beautiful light that allows for the entire session to look stunning in black and white). Older brother Emmett was so gentle and loving to his little brother. This family is truly precious and it was a blessing to share and document this stage in all of their lives.

Fall Mini Sessions // Birkmose Park Hudson WI

It’s hard to believe, but it’s that time of year again! Fall mini sessions will be offered this year on Saturday October 10, 2015 at Birkmose Park in Hudson, WI. I’ve added 10 extra minutes to the session length from last year and kept the 5 digital images (with print release!) and 10% off prints and products the same. These sessions are a great and easy opportunity to capture images for your holiday cards, to give as gifts during the holiday season or simply to finally get an updated family portrait that you’ve been putting off for a few years now. All families, couples and even high school seniors are welcomed. Sessions will be booked during the morning and late afternoon hours on October 10th. Contact Kelly with morning or afternoon preference to figure out time slots available. Contact me today with any questions or to reserve your spot. Times fill up quickly so don’t delay.

The $99 (+tax) session fee will be due at the time of the session. Rescheduling due to rain will be figured out on a one to one basis with Kelly.

Logan // Minnehaha Senior Portraits

I first met Logan almost 10 years ago now. His older sister was my neighbor and good friend in the door rooms freshman year of college. At the time he was a young spirited little kid. Now, he is a senior in high school on the varsity football team with aspirations of becoming an engineer some day. Over the years I have had the privilege and honor of photographing Logan’s two older sisters, Shaina and Stacie, so it was such a joy for me to now photograph the youngest sibling in this incredible family.  Have a fantastic senior year Logan and best wishes to your future!

Jamie & Stevin // Blue Horse Farm Wedding Photography

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Today is the first day back at school for most kids around here. How did that happen? What happened to summer? Too. Fast. That’s all I have to say about that. It’s been busy for Kelly K Photo these last few months. I’ve had some really awesome sessions with some really awesome people. I’ll start blogging those sessions soon, but let’s start with a completely awesome wedding. Jamie and Stevin had the most gorgeous day at Blue Horse Farm in New Richmond, WI. Their day was full of people, vendors and details that are a reflection of their interests. We had an opportunity to steal the lovely couple away from their reception for a little bit and capture some absolutely stunning photos during sunset. Phil and I had a blast capturing your wedding day Jamie and Stevin. Congratulations and best wishes in all your future adventures together.

Austad Family

Two big milestones at once! Ailee is now 6 months, sitting up on her own and is full of smiles! Jude turned 3 and this year we photographed him with a few of his favorite things, trucks, his teddy bears and books! How can they be so big already? These little ones are growing up just way too quickly. However, they do continue to get cuter with age so I guess there is nothing wrong with that.  We topped off the session with a quick and beautiful family portrait.

Heirloom Albums

It’s time to re-introduce the beautiful and exquisite Heirloom Album. This is still my top of the line wedding album, I have just renamed it from Keepsake to Heirloom as it truly will be your first family heirloom, lasting for generations to come. I recently designed this album using images from Adam and Audra’s wedding to have as a studio sample and it is simply too beautiful not to share!

The cover material is in a pearl spiral pattern giving the album elegance and luxury. When designing your custom album with me there are 30+ other cover options to choose from as well. This album is 15 inches wide (30 inches when opened!) by 10 inches tall. I also offer the album in a 10×10 inch square format.

The album pages are thick for durability and tasteful style. The edge binding is the best in the world (in my opinion). No matter how often you look through this album, the pages will not start falling apart at the seams.

For this sample, I opted to have one small image in the cover cutout. You can have up to three images with a variety of location options or one large favorite image that takes up the whole front cover. The options are great to help you create the custom album of your dreams that will showcase your wedding and that you will be proud of for life.

All pages lay-flat with no gap in the gutter of the page seams. This provides for an excellent viewing experience as the book lays flat in your lap or to display on a table. There is the additional bonus of having more photo design options and allowing images to flow from one page to the other with very minimal disruptions.

For newly married couples, you will pick out 45-60 of your favorite images from your wedding day and I will design the page layouts using your images as inspiration for the layout. You will get a chance to make page revisions and have the final say in approval before the album gets sent to a professional print and assembly company. I try to make the process as easy and effortless as can be for you so that you can sit back and simply enjoy married life. Once approved, the albums take 4-6 weeks for processing and then it is yours for a lifetime for you to share with your friends, family, kids and grandkids someday.

There is nothing to compare the experience of holding this album and looking through the pages for yourself. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions on this album or any other albums that I offer.

Ailee // Newborn Photography

This post is late, since little Ailee is almost 4 months old now, but the images were too cute to not share. If her eyes are closed in any of the photos, they are deceiving, this little beauty did not sleep more than a wink during the entire session, but she wasn’t fussy either, so it turned out well. I will post her 3 month photos soon, so stay tuned!
